Who is Edward Snowden?

Edward Snowden is the US Intelligence leaked details of top secret American and British government mass surveillance programs to the press. He is a former technical contractor for the National Security Agency(NSA) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
Snowden expose's based on His revelation about the variety of information in classified intelligence programs, including the interception of US and European telephone metadata and PRISM and Tempora Internet surveillance programs. Additional to this expose's he said that the leaks were an effort "to inform the public as to that which is done in their name and that which is done against them.
June 14, 2013 when US federal prosecutor filed a complaint, made public on June 21, charging Snowden with theft of government property, unauthorized communication of national defense information, and willful communication of classified intelligence to an unauthorized person, the latter two allegations are under the Espionage Act.
He asked for asylum in Hong kong, because NSA employees must declare their foreign   travel 30 days in advance and are monitored. There was a distinct possibility He would be interdicted en route, so He had to travel with no advance booking to a country with the cultural and legal framework to allow him to work without being immediately detained.
Until this moment we don"t know where he is now, whether he apply for the asylum to european country.
With his courage to reveal this information to public made a lot of reaction to the media and ordinary people.They welcome him for his courageous posture he made to the media community and other people around the world, so he made a history by himself. We will continue to watch the next move of US against him.

Edward Snowden  is seeking asylum in  Ecuador but refused by Equador President Rafael Correa, up to this moment Snowden was holed up at  Moscow airport transit area after fleeing from Hongkong.
UPDATE: 01/07/13
President Vladimir Putin clear last Monday That  Snowden was not welcome in Russia with his support to USA, but it seems that  he will hold the American and never hand over to the United States, with one condition he pointed that Snowden should not harm the partners of Russia.

Snowden was rejected his request asylum to France.

Venezuelan President Daniel Ortega offered asylum to Edward Snowden ( 6/7/13)
